Flower Guild

The flower Guild is responsible for putting the flowers on the altar each Sunday, decorating the church for Easter and Christmas (with the help of St. Peter’s family) and making palm crosses for Palm Sunday. We also plant flowers around the church and keep the beds tidy during the summer.

We try to keep at least eleven members in the guild. With this number each member is responsible for one month in decorating the altar and delivering the flowers to members in need of a bit of cheer in their lives. During Lent no flowers are on the altar.

We are at present short of members due to moves and deaths. I was very happy to receive two new members during our church fair. Thank you Susan Baker and Erika Beckman! I hope that there are others out there that would like to join us. It is not a difficult job and we do enjoy it. Just contact me and I will be happy to sign you on. We try to get donors for the flowers for each Sunday this way it is of no expense to the church and the donor is able to remember their loved ones or to have a special thank you for a special event in their lives. We do have a sign up sheet in the hall for this purpose. As of yet I do not have a new Calendar for 2008 but should very soon.
