St. Peter’s Worship Committee meets on an “as needed basis” to discuss ideas and concerns regarding various aspects of our worship services and to plan for any changes deemed to be improvements.
Some issues currently being addressed are: the need for additional chalice bearers, acolytes, lectors and ushers; planning an Instructed Eucharist, we’ve established a master list schedule for groups serving in our worship service.
We are working on ways to meet the need for a smoother approach to communion and the return to pews and are considering having parts of the service be chanted, using incense occasionally, using more inclusive language during worship as well as honoring communicants who are celebrating birthdays.
Another change being considered is having announcements after the recessional on Sundays to avoid a break in the middle of the service.
We have begun involving lay people in doing the Prayers of the People and Fr. Kim is leading a healing service on the 5th Sunday of a month throughout the year.
We invite you to attend meetings of the worship committee. Dates are posted in the Keys and your input is welcome.
